Engines & Transmission TAN
We stand behind the quality of our products with clear, fair warranty coverage. All warranties are provided either by the original manufacturer (for new items) or by Engines & Transmission TAN (for rebuilt, remanufactured, pre-owned, or crate engines/transmissions/outboards we prepare). Warranty terms are always stated on the individual product page—please check there for the exact duration and conditions before purchase.
General Warranty Guidelines
Duration by Product Type (typical – confirm on product page):
- New Crate Engines (e.g., ATK, Blueprint, Chevrolet Performance): 1–3 years (limited)
- Rebuilt / Remanufactured Transmissions (automatic & manual): 12–36 months
- New Outboard Motors (e.g., Yamaha, Mercury): Manufacturer’s full warranty (usually 2–5 years)
- Pre-owned / Used Outboards & Engines: 3–12 months (our in-house warranty, parts & labor)
- Brake Systems, Suspension Kits, Calipers, Rotors: 12–24 months (material & workmanship)
- Other Parts (wiring, accessories, etc.): 6–12 months or as stated
What the Warranty Covers:
- Material defects
- Manufacturing or remanufacturing defects
- Workmanship issues during rebuild/preparation by us
What the Warranty Does NOT Cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from improper installation, misuse, abuse, racing/competition use (unless product is explicitly rated for it)
- Accidents, negligence, modifications, or failure to follow maintenance guidelines
- Consequential damages (e.g., towing costs, lost time, secondary damage to vehicle/boat)
- Labor costs unless explicitly included (most warranties are parts-only)
- Issues caused by incorrect application, overheating, lack of proper fluids/lubrication, or non-compatible components
How to Make a Warranty Claim
- Contact us within the warranty period at support@enginestransmissiontan.nl Include:
- Order number
- Proof of purchase (invoice)
- Detailed description of the issue
- Photos/videos of the problem/part
- Installation details (who installed, when, any modifications)
- We will review and respond within 2–5 business days (often faster).
- If approved, we may:
- Repair the item
- Replace it (with same or comparable part)
- Issue a refund or credit (at our discretion)
- Return shipping: Customer pays to return the item to us (Vlaardingen, NL) unless we determine the defect is our responsibility—in which case we cover return freight or provide a prepaid label.
- Once received and inspected, we process the warranty resolution quickly (usually 5–10 business days after receipt).
Important Notes
- Warranty is non-transferable (applies only to the original purchaser).
- Proof of professional installation may be required for certain high-performance or complex items.
- For manufacturer warranties (e.g., new Yamaha outboards), we assist with the claim, but final resolution follows the manufacturer’s policy.
- Warranty claims must be pre-authorized—unauthorized repairs or disassembly may void coverage.
